Public Advisory: Application Deadline Extended for Job Creation Partnerships Program

  • Immigration, Population Growth and Skills

August 2, 2021

The deadline for applications for the enhanced Job Creation Partnerships program has been extended to August 26, 2021. This extension will give community groups more time to organize projects as they continue to work through recovery from the pandemic.

The Job Creation Partnerships program supports not-for-profit projects that enable workers to gain skills and experience that help them secure ongoing employment. Supported by the Labour Market Development Agreement, approved projects must benefit participants as well as their communities.

The increased living allowances for participants, which are new this year, include:

  • Supervisory, coordinator or equivalently skilled positions – $595 weekly, up from $524 (examples include Project Supervisor Qualified Carpenter, or Program Manager);
  • Moderately skilled positions – $540 weekly, up from $497 (examples include Museum Interpreter, Administrator or Program Coordinator); and,
  • Labourer or equivalently skilled positions – $510 weekly, up from $477 (examples include Labourer, Office Clerk, or Maintenance Worker).

Employers can view the program guidelines and apply online by visiting Job Creation Partnerships – Immigration, Population Growth and Skills. Approvals are currently ongoing and are subject to funding availability.
