The Department of Justice and Public Safety is reminding the public of the approaching deadline to apply for assistance under the Newfoundland and Labrador Disaster Financial Assistance Program, for residents, businesses and communities who sustained damage during Hurricane Larry in September 2021.

The deadline for receipt of applications is this Friday (December 10). Information is available online or by calling 1-888-395-5611.

As of December 3, 58 private sector claims have been received. If residents have not yet applied because they are waiting for a response from their insurance provider, they should nevertheless apply now. Documents from insurance providers can be submitted once they have been received.
