Public Body: Labour Relations Board
Summary: A Complainant filed a privacy complaint under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, 2015 (“ATIPPA, 2015” or “the Act”) with this Office regarding a privacy breach by the Labour Relations Board (the “Board”). The breach was the disclosure of personal information of a number of individuals who had signed union cards. The Labour Relations Board acknowledged the privacy breach. The Commissioner recommended that the Labour Relations Board review its policies and procedures for protecting and disclosing personal information; develop a policy and procedure for responding to privacy breaches; and to develop a remediation plan.
