A contract valued at $1.4 million has been awarded to Concord Paving to pave Route 81 (Markland Road).
The contract includes the paving of 6.85 kilometres of the road beginning approximately five kilometres south of Main Road, Whitbourne, and the installation of guiderails and five culverts along that section of the route.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure anticipates work to be completed during the 2021 highway construction season. Motorists in the area should anticipate some traffic delays while work is active and be prepared to slow down and watch for crews working in the area.
This year’s work is in addition to 4.2 kilometres of the road paved in 2020.
