The Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, will speak at a virtual event titled “Basic Income: New Policies for a New World” tomorrow (Thursday, September 29) at 11:55 a.m.

The virtual event is hosted by Food First NL and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research, in partnership with members of the Basic Income NL network including the Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador, Social Justice Cooperative NL, End Homelessness St. John’s and Choices for Youth. The event aims to raise awareness about basic income and its impact on the social determinants of health, and to build future partnerships.
