The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Green Bay Sawmill Production                                                              (Reg. 2190)
Proponent: Green Bay Logging Limited

The proponent proposes to increase the production of lumber and wood products at its existing sawmill operation from 500,000 fbm (fbm = foot board measure) to 3 million fbm.  The increase would allow the company to meet the demands of its customers, in particular those in the mining and exploration industries. The sawmill is located on Side Cut Road, south of Springdale Junction in central Newfoundland. The undertaking was registered on March 7, 2022; the deadline for public comment is April 14, 2022; and, the minister’s decision is due by April 21, 2022.
