Individuals planning to sell Crown timber for firewood or any other uses are reminded they must obtain a commercial cutting permit or timber purchase licence to legally access the timber.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture has received several reports recently about a number of social media posts advertising firewood for sale by individuals without the required permits.
Anyone planning to sell firewood can apply for a commercial cutting permit or timber purchase licence by contacting their local Forest Management Office.
The public can report suspected illegal activity online by visiting www.stoppoaching.ca or by calling 1-877-820-0999.
