Funding applications are now open for the 2022-23 Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

The Partnership is a $3 billion Federal-Provincial-Territorial Framework Agreement providing $37 million over five years to Newfoundland and Labrador’s agriculture and agrifoods industry ($22.2 million federal and $14.8 million provincial).

The Partnership invests in six areas:

  • Markets and trade;
  • Science, research and innovation;
  • Risk management;
  • Environmental sustainability and climate change;
  • Value-added agriculture and agri-processing; and
  • Public trust.

Since 2018, the Partnership has been making critical investments in innovation, land development, new entrant initiatives, food safety, environmental sustainability, and market development. The program places priority on food production and food self-sufficiency, and also focuses on agricultural growth and employment creation to help the agriculture industry grow, innovate and prosper.
