Minister Bragg Announces Review of Cabin Development on Scheduled Salmon Rivers in Labrador

The Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, today announced a review of cabin development on Crown lands near scheduled salmon rivers in Labrador.

The review, to be completed by March 31, 2023, will be undertaken in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Climate Change; the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation; the Labrador Affairs Secretariat; and the Office of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation. It will also include a public engagement component and direct engagement with Indigenous Governments and Organizations.

No new Crown land applications for cabin development in these areas will be registered until the review is complete.
