The Newfoundland and Labrador big game licence application process will be shifting to a primarily online service beginning in 2022, and all hunters will need an online account. The transition to a primarily an online service is expected to reduce delays and improve efficiency in the management and operation of the application process.
In preparation for the receipt of big game applications for the 2022 big game hunting season, detailed account set-up instructions have been mailed to all hunters who do not currently have a Wildlife Information Management System online account. The mail out document contains a detailed step-by-step guide describing how to set up an online account. In addition to the mail out document, an instructional video outlining each step can be viewed here.
All individuals with an existing Wildlife Information Management System account will be issued big game application notifications for the 2022 big game season via email rather than through Canada Post.
The 2022 big game application process is not open at this time. The online application process is scheduled to open February 28 and conclude on April 29. This is an increase in duration of the application window from four weeks in previous years to nine weeks.
For additional information about the application process please contact the provincial Wildlife Division in Corner Brook at 709-637-2025, St. John’s at 709-729-2630 or by email at wildlifelicense@gov.nl.ca.
