The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Badger Sand and Gravel Quarry                                                       (Reg. 2247)
Proponent:  Exploits Welding and Machine Shop Limited

The proponent is proposing to develop a 2.6-hectare sand and gravel quarry approximately 1.4 kilometres north of the Town of Badger off the Trans-Canada Highway. The quarry materials would be used to support infrastructure developments in the Central Newfoundland region. The undertaking was registered on June 1, 2023; the deadline for public comment is July 6, 2023; and the minister’s decision is due by July 16, 2023.
