The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister Responsible for Labour, is today recognizing Labour Day and thanking workers in Newfoundland and Labrador for their important contributions towards building a strong workforce in the province.
Labour Day, recognized this year on September 4 and each year in Canada on the first Monday of September, is a time to reflect and recognize the workforce as the backbone of our communities and thank them for the many worker protections and benefits now accessible to all Canadians.
Labour Day acknowledges the tireless efforts of workers and their highly valued work, which form the foundation of our economy, culture and society.
