Celebrating Excellence within the Public Service

The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, along with Krista Quinlan, Clerk of the Executive Council, joined members of the public service to celebrate the exceptional contributions of the 2023 recipients of the Public Service Award of Excellence. This year, 49 people are being recognized for their incredible effort to support residents, communities and citizens facing a global humanitarian crisis.

Of the public service employees being celebrated, there are two individuals and four teams. They include:

Individuals:

  • Geoff Bailey, Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation; and
  • Amanda Garland, Treasury Board Secretariat.

Teams:

  • Colonial Building Restoration Team, Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation and Transportation and Infrastructure – Scott Andrews, Blair A. Boland, Kerri Button, John P. Cheeseman, Greg Clarke, Ralph Clemens Jr., William G. Davis, Rob Jacobs, Lynda Keefe, Kim Kieley, Chris Martin, Robert Matthews, Jean McGrath, Leon Murphy, Gerry Osmond, Darrell Pynn, Lisa Reid, Laurie Roche-Lawrence, Natasha Smith, Colleen Soulliere, Katherine Suley, John Trahey and Derrick Walsh;

  • Ukrainian Family Support Desk Team, Executive Council, Immigration Population Growth and Skills – Allison Day, Sarah Kirby, Darek Nakonieczny, Iwona Nakonieczny, Sheldon Joseph O’Neill, Sonia Parker, Angela Bachan Sidhu, Sophia Rachel Solomon, and Sarah Thompson.
