The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will join the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs and municipal leaders at the 2023 Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) Conference being held this week at the St. John’s Convention Centre.

Media are advised of the following schedule of events for Premier Furey and Minister Haggie:

1. The Premier’s Forum on Local Government will take place tomorrow (Friday, October 27) at 9:15 a.m., and will present “A Conversation with Municipal Leaders on Rural and Regional Development – Key Issues and Opportunities to Build a Sustainable Future.”
2. Premier Furey will deliver the keynote address at the MNL Gala on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
3. Minister Haggie will address the MNL Annual General Meeting Saturday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m.

Several other ministers are also attending the conference and meeting with municipal leaders on matters of importance related to their portfolios.
