Applications are open for the Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop at Marble Mountain in Steady Brook from September 29 to October 1, 2023.
The Becoming an Outdoors Woman program helps participants aged 18 and over develop a variety of outdoor skills, with a focus on conservation of Newfoundland and Labrador’s natural, historical and cultural resources. Participants choose from a wide range of hands-on courses, including shotgun and rifle basics, archery, all-terrain vehicle safety, cooking in the outdoors, creating leather from animal hides, orienteering and bee keeping.
An all-inclusive $295 fee covers accommodations, meals and all course materials. To request a registration package, email salmoniernaturepark@gov.nl.ca or call 709-229-7888.
Major sponsors include the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Wildlife Habitat Canada, Friends of Salmonier Nature Park, along with other provincial organizations, volunteers and local businesses.
