The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, will host a guided nature walk at Salmonier Nature Park as part of Well-Being Week on Thursday, September 21.

Participants and media are asked to meet at the Visitor’s Centre next to the parking lot at 10:30 a.m.

Interpretive staff will guide participants on a three-kilometre boardwalk trail through unique, old-growth boreal forest, passing by a variety of wildlife enclosures. The walk is open to the public, and the trail is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Participants are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. Admission is free.

Salmonier Nature Park is located on Salmonier Line (Route 90), 12 kilometres south of the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1). The park’s mission is to provide exemplary learning opportunities and visitor experiences to connect people with the natural communities of Newfoundland and Labrador.
