The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills, will speak at the official launch of Memorial University’s Community Hubs in Corner Brook tomorrow (Friday, September 8).

Minister Byrne will speak at the Grenfell Campus Centre for Research and Innovation, 1 Mill Road, Corner Brook beginning at 11:30 a.m. This is one of 16 launch event locations.

The Community Hubs initiative builds on the partnerships Grenfell Campus established in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 lockdown, when the university and its partners co-designed two “rural learning hubs.” There are currently 17 hubs throughout the province, each with high-speed internet access, digital equipment and multipurpose space for study, meetings and workshops.
