The Honourable John Hogan, KC, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, is congratulating 17 Royal Newfoundland Constabulary cadets upon their graduation from the Atlantic Police Academy.
The new cadets will join over 400 individuals who work tirelessly to ensure safe communities every day in the province. The 17 graduates will have an opportunity for on-the-job training with coach officers beginning next month in Corner Brook and on the Northeast Avalon.
The Atlantic Police Academy provides cadet training designed to prepare and qualify candidates to become a police officer with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. Using a blend of academic and tactical training, the program uses real-life situations and simulations to prepare candidates for the law enforcement profession.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is currently recruiting the next class of candidates who will be given the opportunity to begin training in January 2024.
