The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has reduced the maximum load limit on Ochre Pit Brook Bridge in Ochre Pit Cove from the vehicle’s legal limits to 20 tonnes, effective immediately.

The reduction in the maximum load limit is related to recent inspection of the bridge. Traffic can safely continue to use the bridge, pending the required load limit.

Planning is underway for a temporary structure in the coming weeks, followed by a tender for the permanent replacement of the bridge. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
