The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the motoring public that the portion of Marine Drive that has been subject to gradual erosion is safe for all traffic, including snowclearing equipment.

Engineers with the department recently assessed the section of road and appropriate signage and concrete traffic barriers are in place.

Bi-weekly inspections – as well as inspections following extreme weather events – are scheduled for the duration of the winter months to ensure conditions do not change.

The section of road was part of the Provincial Roads Plan for 2023 and design work is underway, with construction on that section of road starting in 2024.
