Funding will also be used to increase capacity and provincial outreach and service delivery, in partnership with community stakeholders, such as women’s centres, violence prevention organizations, Friendship Centres, and newcomer organizations, to address gender-based violence.

The Federal Department of Women and Gender Equality and Youth, through the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence is providing nearly $13.6 million over the next four years to support violence prevention initiatives throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The funds will be distributed through the Provincial Office of Women and Gender Equality to various groups and organizations.
