The Honourable Paul Pike, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, will announce an initiative to improve benefits and achieve a basic income for persons with disabilities tomorrow (Friday, June 7).
Minister Pike will be joined by Dr. Pat Parfrey, Deputy Minister, Health Transformation, as well as Duane Morgan, CNIB Vice President, Atlantic Canada, and Dennis Gill, father of an adult son living with disabilities, Past President of Inclusion Canada Newfoundland and Labrador and the Chair of the Buildings Accessibility Advisory Board.
The event will take place in the Media Centre, East Block, Confederation Building, at 11:00 a.m. A technical briefing for media will take place at 10:00 a.m.
