On behalf of the Provincial Government, the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister Responsible for Labour, recognizes Newfoundland and Labrador’s strong workforce and extends her heartfelt thanks to all workers across the province today, and every day, for their vital contributions.

Labour Day is celebrated each year in Canada on the first Monday of September. It is a time to reflect and recognize the workforce as the backbone of our communities and to acknowledge the many worker protections and benefits accessible to Canadians.

This year, Labour Day will be recognized on Monday, September 2.
