The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, are attending the World Hydrogen 2024 Summit and Exhibition, May 13-15 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The summit has been held annually since 2020 to convene government representatives, hydrogen and energy stakeholders, service providers, and hydrogen end-users. The World Hydrogen 2024 Summit is anticipated to have over 15,000 attendees from 130 countries.
The Newfoundland and Labrador delegation includes representatives from the Premier’s Office, Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, and Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat. Also attending the conference are senior officials from major energy companies, national and regional governments, and companies which operate throughout the hydrogen development chain, including regulators, construction companies, energy buyers, utility companies, and shipping companies.
Prior to attending the World Hydrogen 2024 Summit, Premier Furey will visit Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for meetings to advance our province’s clean energy potential and recruitment of health care professionals. He is also participating in a convocation ceremony on May 11 at the Canadian University of Dubai at which he will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree.
