The Honourable Scott Reid, Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation, is participating in two events taking place on the west coast.

The Minister is joining a Sisters in Spirit Vigil event organized by the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women’s Network. Activities commence with a walk that starts at Blanche Brook Park this evening (Friday, October 4) at 6:30 p.m. and proceeds to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Healing Garden in Stephenville. Minister Reid will bring remarks at a vigil which is taking place at the local Lions Club at 7:00 p.m.

The Minister is also speaking at the Indigenous Women’s Empowerment Conference, which takes place October 4-6, 2024, at the Holiday Inn Express in Deer Lake. Minister Reid is scheduled to speak during the opening ceremony tomorrow (Saturday, October 5) at 9:00 a.m. The conference is hosted by the Assembly of First Nations, Newfoundland region.
