The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will bring greetings at the celebration of completed construction of the new supportive and transitional living space and shelter at The Gathering Place tomorrow (Tuesday, November 5).

The event will take place at The Gathering Place, located at 172 Military Road in St. John’s at 10:00 a.m.

Premier Furey will be joined by Her Honour the Honourable Joan Marie J. Aylward, O.N.L., Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Joanne Thompson, Member of Parliament for St. John’s East, in bringing remarks. The Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister of Housing and Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, and the Honourable Fred Hutton, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and Minister of Rural Economic Development will also be in attendance.

Since 1994, The Gathering Place has offered shelter, programs and services to individuals experiencing homelessness or who live in less than desirable housing conditions.
