The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills, will be joined by members of professional United Kingdom football club Barrow AFC, at King George V Field, 3 Carnell Drive, St. John’s on Friday, June 21 at 3:30 p.m. Minister Byrne will announce details of a multi-year partnership to feature and promote Newfoundland and Labrador internationally as an ideal place to live, work and raise a family.

Minister Byrne will also be joined by representatives of the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association and the Association for New Canadians.

Doors open in advance of announcement at 2:30 p.m. Media are encouraged to arrive early to allow time to set up.

Participants are advised to dress appropriately for outdoor weather.

Members from provincial youth soccer organizations are encouraged to attend in their soccer club gear with cleats to help welcome the professional club and players.

Opened on June 22, 1925, the historic King George V Field is the oldest surviving soccer-specific stadium in North America.
