The Honourable Dr. Scott Reid, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:
Great Coastal Trail – Quirpon to Goose Cove (Reg. 2355)
Proponent: Great Northern Trail Association Inc.
The proponent is proposing to develop five multi-use trails for walking and biking as part of the Great Coastal Trail project. The proposed trail system would total approximately 32 kilometres in length and be located between Quirpon and Goose Cove at the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula. Construction of the trail would include vegetation clearing and trail widening, tread construction, and installation of water crossings and signage. The undertaking was registered on May 16, 2025. The deadline for public comment is June 20, 2025, and the minister’s decision is due by June 30, 2025.

Trinity Bay Ferrish Cove ATV Trail (Reg. 2331)

On May 16, 2025, the minister advised the proponent that the Environmental Protection Plan for the project is acceptable. Little Rapids Residential Lot (Reg. 2349)
Proponent: Damian and Krista Baldwin
