The Honourable Dr. Scott Reid, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Boyd’s Cove to Lewisporte 148L Transmission Line                      (Reg. 2360)
Proponent: Newfoundland Power Inc.

The proponent is proposing to construct a 51.8-kilometre, 138-kilovolt transmission line connecting the Boyd’s Cove and Lewisporte substations in central Newfoundland. The project is intended to address aging infrastructure and mitigate undervoltage issues in the region, enhancing grid reliability for surrounding communities. The undertaking was registered on June 27, 2025. The deadline for public comment is August 1, 2025, and the minister’s decision is due by August 11, 2025.

Steady Brook Villas                                                                                   (Reg. 2361)
Proponent: Martin Flynn / Chris Dicks

The proponent is proposing to construct four villas near the Humber River in the Town of Steady Brook. The proposed project would involve selective land clearing and the construction of a driveway connecting the site to Dogwood Drive.
