Environment and Climate Change has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Salmonier Line Camp St. George Expansion                                    (Reg. 2374)
Proponent: Scouts Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Properties Inc.

The proponent is proposing to expand Camp St. George by acquiring 23 hectares of Crown land adjacent to its current lease near South West Pond. The expansion would support youth recreational and educational programming. Construction would occur in four phases over 10 to 12 years and would include trail building, tenting areas, cooking shelters, pit privies, and a parking lot. The undertaking was registered on October 17, 2025. The deadline for public comments is November 21, 2025, and the minister’s decision is due by December 1, 2025.
