The Provincial Government today announced the expansion of the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre in Harbour Breton.
Aligned with the recommendations of Health Accord NL, the multi-year project will include 10 new long-term care beds and more space for the region’s family care team. The expanded capacity will help meet the health care needs of residents on the Connaigre Peninsula.
The Department of Health and Community Services and NL Health Services are presently developing the request for proposals for the project. It is anticipated that the request for proposals will be issued in fall 2025.
Family care teams are collaborative environments where health care professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals work together in the delivery of primary health care.
To date, 21 family care teams are operational in the province and more than 100,000 people in Newfoundland and Labrador are now connected to family care teams.
