The Honourable John Hogan, KC, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced changes to his Cabinet.
Effective immediately, the changes are:
- The Honourable Jamie Korab, Minister of Seniors and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
- The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Families and Affordability, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities and Minister Responsible for the Community Sector, in addition to his duties as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development.

Biographies
Hon. Bernard Davis
Bernard Davis is a lifelong resident of St. John’s, a dedicated community volunteer, and someone who is committed to enhancing and promoting community development issues across the province. A graduate of Memorial University (Bachelor of Commerce), Mr. Davis served as the Executive Director and Program Coordinator of the Church Lad’s Brigade (C.L.B.) and as an elected Councillor at St. John’s City Hall before entering provincial politics.
In 2015, Mr. Davis was elected to represent the District of Virginia Waters – Pleasantville, and has served as Parliamentary Secretary to both the Minister of Health and Community Services and Minister of Service NL.
He was appointed Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour in November of 2018, and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation in August of 2020. In April 2021, he was appointed Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Minister Responsible for Labour; and Minister Responsible for Workplace NL. In July of 2024, Mr. Davis was appointed as Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Minister Responsible for the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Office. Since May 2025 he has served as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development
On August 15, 2025, he was sworn in as Minister of Families and Affordability, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities and Minister Responsible for the Community Sector, in addition to his duties as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Hon. Jamie Korab
Jamie Korab, born and raised in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador, has dedicated his life to public service, sports, and community leadership. After completing his secondary education in his hometown, Jamie moved to St. John’s in 1999 to pursue higher education.
Before entering provincial politics, Jamie made significant contributions to his community as the Ward 3 Councillor for the City of St. John’s, a role he held for seven years. Jamie’s political journey took a notable turn when he was elected as the Member of the House of Assembly for Waterford Valley on August 22, 2024.
Beyond his political and community service, Jamie is celebrated for his achievements in sports. He is a proud Olympic gold medalist in Men’s Curling from the 2006 Winter Olympics. His contributions to his home province have also been honored with the Order of Newfoundland & Labrador, and he received an honorary law degree from Memorial University, recognizing his impact and leadership.
Jamie’s professional background includes a successful 12-year career as an award-winning Realtor. He currently resides in St. John’s with his wife, Stephanie, and their two daughters.
