The Honourable John Hogan, KC, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced $100,000 for wildland coveralls to the 35 volunteer fire departments that supported this past month’s wildfire suppression efforts.

Each of these departments will receive six pairs of wildland coveralls to support their ongoing emergency response within their communities and across the province.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, approximately 6,000 volunteer firefighters dedicate their time and expertise to protecting families, homes, and businesses every day. This funding is an important step in supporting their safety and readiness.

Further details regarding financial compensation for volunteer firefighters will be shared in the near future.
