The Honourable Lela Evans, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation and Minister of Labrador Affairs, is attending the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Nunatsiavut Government and the implementation of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.

The event takes place tomorrow (Saturday, November 29) at the Jens Haven Memorial School beginning at 1:00 p.m.

December 1, 2025, marks the 20th anniversary of Nunatsiavut becoming the first Inuit region in Canada to achieve self-governance. The theme of this year’s anniversary, Inuit Voices, Inuit Vision, captures the essence of what the Nunatsiavut Government has stood for since its establishment: self-determination, cultural preservation, and political accountability rooted in Inuit values.
