The Honourable Helen Conway Ottenheimer, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, on behalf of the Honourable Tony Wakeham, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will speak at a memorial service to honour the 40th anniversary of the Arrow Air flight 1285 tragedy tomorrow (Friday, December 12).

The memorial service will take place at the Evangel Pentecostal Community Church, 130 Magee Road, Gander, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

This solemn occasion will mark 40 years since the tragic loss of 256 individuals, including 248 members of the United States 101st Airborne Division. The disaster remains the deadliest aviation accident ever on Canadian soil.
