The Honourable Jamie Korab, Minister of Families and Affordability and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, is today announcing a call for applications for the Accessible Vehicle Funding program.
The Provincial Government is investing $350,000 for the 2025-26 Accessible Vehicle Funding program which reflects a continued commitment to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities. Access to accessible transportation can be a significant barrier for persons with disabilities, and can limit opportunities for community engagement, employment and inclusion.
Grants under Accessible Vehicle Funding provide up to $50,000 to eligible individuals and families toward the cost of modifying personal vehicles for accessibility. Since 2020, at total of 80 individuals and their families have benefited from this funding. Accessible Vehicle Funding continues to support persons with disabilities to actively engage with their friends and family in their communities and to access work, school and play
Guidelines and application for the 2025-26 Accessible Vehicle Funding program are available here. The deadline for applications for Accessible Vehicle Funding is September 2, 2025.
Further to the information available on the department’s website, alternate formats are available upon request by calling toll-free 1-888-729-6279 or emailing FAMAGrantPrograms@gov.nl.ca. Video Relay Service calls are welcome.
