September 11, 2025

The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Families and Affordability and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, is today announcing funding for the 2025-26 Accessible Vehicle Grants program.

A total of $350,000 has been awarded to 14 successful applicants. This grant program aligns with the Provincial Government’s continued commitment to improving accessibility by providing a transportation option for persons with disabilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Grants under the Accessible Vehicle Funding provide up to $50,000 to eligible individuals and families to modify personal vehicles for accessibility. Including the 2025-26 recipients, a total of 93 individuals and their families have benefited from this funding since 2020.

The Accessible Vehicle Grant is continuing to create a more inclusive and accessible Newfoundland and Labrador, supporting well-being and the development of a society in which each person feels valued and respected. Accessible vehicles help persons with disabilities receive the social, economic and health-related benefits associated with being active and engaged members of their communities.
