The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is partnering with rod and gun clubs throughout the province again this summer to offer Youth Outdoor Skills Workshops focusing on wildlife conservation, outdoor skills, and safe hunting practices.
Youth Outdoor Skills Workshops are an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 17 to learn new skills in a safe environment, with coaching and supervision from qualified instructors and volunteers. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Sessions include hands-on learning in wildlife conservation, firearm safety, rifle and shotgun shooting basics, archery, outdoor survival, orienteering, and wildlife identification.
The following events are tentatively scheduled:
- Northwest Arm Rod and Gun Club, Winterland: Saturday, June 7
- Upper Humber Rod and Gun Club, Deer Lake: Saturday, June 21
- Notre Dame Rod and Gun Club, Lewisporte: Saturday, July 19
Pre-registration is required for each event. Please contact the participating rod and gun clubs for registration and details. Other dates and locations will be announced as they become available.
