The public is being advised that a fraudulent text message regarding speed camera tickets is circulating within the province, and that recipients should not click on the provided link. Such messages should be deleted and phone number blocked.

Speed camera tickets and information about how to pay them is delivered by registered mail and is never communicated through text messages.

Individuals can also check to see if they have any unpaid tickets, at any time, through their free MyGovNL account. For more information, please visit Speed Camera Program.

Anyone who has questions about services provided by Motor Registration can visit the website, or call toll-free 1-877-636-6867.

Recipients of these text messages can report them to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre or their local police.
