Public Accounts Committee to Hold Public Hearing on Health Sector Contracts Audit Report

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts advises it will hold a public hearing to follow up on matters contained in the Auditor General’s Health Sector Contracts – Phase 1 audit report on Tuesday, August 12 at 1 p.m. in the House of Assembly Chamber.

Dr. Pat Parfrey, President and Chief Executive Officer, and other senior officials from Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, will appear to respond to questions regarding the health authority’s use of travel nurses, including its procurement processes, contract controls and planning methods, and other serious concerns raised in the report.

The public galleries of the House of Assembly will be open and a live audio feed of the proceedings will be streamed on the House of Assembly website and social media.
