Ministers Attending Canada Day London

The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology and Minister Responsible for Trade Opportunities, the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Jobs, Immigration and Growth, and the Honourable Fred Hutton, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, are attending Canada Day London to help attract talent, boost tourism, and expand trade and investment ties with the United Kingdom. These activities are aligned with the Provincial Government’s ongoing efforts to develop new markets and trading partners for Newfoundland and Labrador businesses.

The ministers will participate in the following Canada Day London events:

  • June 25 – Canada-U.K. Business Summit: The summit is a business-to-business event hosted in partnership with the Canada-U.K. Chamber of Commerce, Trade Commissioner Services, Export Development Canada, and the U.K. Department of Business and Trade. This year’s summit is anticipated to draw over 150 business and government leaders and will feature two prominent panel discussions highlighting advancements in Newfoundland and Labrador’s mining and technology sectors. Leading Newfoundland and Labrador companies and industry associations will sit on the two panels.
  • June 26 – Canada House National Day Reception: This invite-only reception, hosted by the High Commission of Canada, provides an opportunity for government and business leaders to network. Last year, Canada House National Day Reception received 250 registered attendees and over 70 political dignitaries.
  • June 27 – Travel Trade Luncheon: An invite-only luncheon hosted by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation. This event will provide an opportunity for the Minister and the department’s Travel Trade team to interact with key Travel Trade partners in the U.K. to discuss opportunities to promote travel to Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • June 27 – Canada Day London Industry Showcase 2025: An opportunity to meet with key stakeholders in the London music industry with the objective of showcasing Newfoundland and Labrador music talent on an international stage in the future.
  • June 28 – Canada Day Celebration in Trafalgar Square: The Provincial Government’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism will have a booth at the Canada Day Celebration in Trafalgar Square to connect with people interested in immigrating to Newfoundland and Labrador. This full-day event in the heart of Central London is free to attend and includes a showcase of Newfoundland and Labrador culture, live Canadian music, a Canadian Food Fest, the National Hockey League Global Fan Tour and more family-friendly activities.
  • June 30 – Immigration Pathways Event at Canada House: The Provincial Government is hosting an Immigration Pathways Event at Canada House to give personalized guidance and insights on each step of the immigration journey to Newfoundland and Labrador. This invite-only event is for individuals working in in-demand occupations who are interested in moving to Newfoundland and Labrador.
