The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, today announced a total of $219,145 in funding through the Business Growth Program to support six small and medium-sized enterprises across Newfoundland and Labrador.
The funding will help these businesses expand their marketing efforts, enhance productivity, and explore new markets both locally and internationally.
The businesses receiving support are:
- Central Granite Inc. – $33,473
- Majestic Metals Ltd. – $18,241
- Warblers at Trinity – $17,373
- Shears Bus Service Ltd. – $20,756
- Laughing Heart Music Ltd. – $114,000
- Cormack Bee Company – $15,302

The Business Growth Program provides non-repayable contributions for projects or initiatives to assist businesses start, innovate, scale and improve sales locally, nationally or internationally.

BACKGROUNDER
Central Granite Inc.
Central Granite Inc., based in Central Newfoundland, is a newly formed company focused on developing domestic and export markets for high-quality black granite. Funding of $33,473 will support the development of a marketing plan, website, promotional materials, and attendance at trade shows. These efforts aim to establish a customer base before production begins, ensuring early revenue generation and long-term market penetration.
Majestic Metals Ltd.
Majestic Metals, located in St. John’s, specializes in metal roofing solutions. Funding of $18,241 will support productivity improvements, equipment optimization, and customer relationship management software implementation. The project includes training, supply chain enhancements, and service development to strengthen the company’s competitive edge and expand its market reach.
Warblers at Trinity
Warblers at Trinity is a luxury accommodation provider in Trinity, NL. Funding of $17,373 will support a marketing campaign targeting travelers. Activities include professional photography, videography, and the development of a video series to promote the property and its surrounding experiences, with the goal of increasing bookings and extending the tourism season.
Shears Bus Service Ltd.
Shears Bus Service, based in Rocky Harbour, is a long-standing transportation provider with a growing focus on tourism. Funding of $20,756 will support website development, social media marketing, fleet enhancements, and attendance at key trade shows. These initiatives aim to position the company as a premier tourism transportation provider in the region.
Laughing Heart Music Ltd.
Laughing Heart Music, a full-service music company based in Corner Brook, will receive $114,000 to support a two-year international marketing and export development plan. The funding will enable attendance at showcase festivals and industry events across Europe, Canada, and Australia, helping to build strategic relationships and expand the company’s global presence.
Cormack Bee Company
Cormack Bee Company, a family-owned apiary in Western Newfoundland, produces premium honey and offers agri-tourism experiences. Funding of $15,302 will support brand development, website upgrades, promotional materials, and event coordination. These efforts aim to increase visibility, attract eco-conscious consumers, and boost rural economic development.
