Due to the active wildfire near Martin Lake, residents who rely on Route 360 (Bay d’Espoir Highway) are asked to limit unnecessary travel on the highway at this time.
While the highway currently remains open, the ongoing wildfire situation could change at any time, which would result in an immediate closure of the road.
An evacuation advisory is currently in effect for cabin owners in the Martin Lake, Great Rattling Brook and Rushy Pond areas. All cabin owners in the area have been advised to leave their cabins.
Residents and cabin owners are asked to continue to monitor official Provincial Government sources for all updates, and are reminded that a province-wide fire ban is in effect in Newfoundland and Labrador.
