The Honourable Dr. John Haggie, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, has partially rescinded the regional state of emergency for a portion of the Bay de Verde Peninsula from Bristol’s Hope to Whiteway (the communities in the entirety of the Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde electoral district).
The regional state of emergency has been lifted for all areas, except for the following communities:
- Unincorporated area of Western Bay.
- Unincorporated area of Ochre Pit Cove.
- Areas SOUTH of Northern Bay Brook Bridge in Northern Bay.
These communities remain under evacuation orders and the regional state of emergency.
Kingston and the Town of Small Point-Broad Cove-Blackhead-Adam’s Cove remain under an evacuation alert.
In addition, the precautionary evacuation alerts for the communities of Perry’s Cove, Salmon Cove, Victoria, Burnt Point and Gull Island, have been lifted effective immediately.
