Public Advisory: Regional State of Emergency for a Portion of the Bay de Verde Peninsula Lifted, Evacuation Alerts Remain in Place

The Honourable Dr. John Haggie, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, has rescinded the regional state of emergency for a portion of the Bay de Verde Peninsula from Bristol’s Hope to Whiteway (the communities in the entirety of the Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde electoral district). The regional state of emergency has been lifted for the entire area.

The following communities remain under a precautionary evacuation alert (communities need to be prepared to leave on very short notice):

  • Unincorporated area of Western Bay.
  • Unincorporated area of Ochre Pit Cove.
  • Unincorporated area of Burnt Point-Gull Island-Northern Bay.
  • Unincorporated area of Kingston.
  • Town of Small Point-Broadcove-Blackhead-Adam’s Cove.
