December 11, 2025

The Honourable Joedy Wall, Minister of Social Supports and Well-Being, issued the following statement regarding the Special Report of the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate: A report examining the policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and well-being of children and youth in receipt of protective intervention services where a report of child sexual abuse or exploitation is received, which was presented to the Premier and ministers today. In 2024, the Provincial Government requested that the Child and Youth Advocate conduct this review.

We deeply appreciate the work conducted by the Child and Youth Advocate on this important report. In the spirit of transparency, we are releasing the report publicly. We recognize the importance of the findings and considerations in the report, and the seriousness and urgency of the matters raised within it. Our government immediately initiated the development of an action plan in response to the advocate’s findings and will release that plan in January.

The report is available online.
