As part of the Year of Sport initiative, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation is pleased to offer free public swims every Sunday at the two provincially operated swimming pools in Gander and Corner Brook (J.R. Smallwood Arts and Culture Centre Swimming Pool and Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre Swimming Pool).

Free swims begin this Sunday (March 23, 2025) and will continue every Sunday until the end of the year. Qualifying swims include open, family, lane, and adult swims and are available on a first come, first served basis.

The provincially operated pool schedules can be found here. Please note that some Sunday swims have the potential to be impacted by scheduled maintenance or swim meets. Interested swimmers are encouraged to check the schedule and availability ahead of time.
