The Honourable Chris Tibbs, Minister of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.
Undertakings Registered:
Gold Anchor Property Mineral Exploration Access Road (Reg. 2385)
Proponent: Rocky Shore Metals Ltd.
The proponent is proposing to build a 15.8 km resource road in Central Newfoundland to support mineral exploration activities. The road would connect two former forestry roads and the exit onto the Bay D’Espoir Highway (Route 360). The proposed project includes rehabilitating approximately 15 km of existing forestry road, constructing 0.8 km of new road, and installing two temporary bridges over Little Gull River and Cat Brook. The project would provide access for diamond drilling and other mineral exploration work at the Gold Anchor Property.

Little Indian Brook Bridge Replacement (Reg. 2384)
Proponent: Department of Transportation and Infrastructure
The proponent is proposing to replace an aged and deteriorated bridge across Little Indian Brook on Route 370 in the Town of Badger. The project would include the demolition and removal of the existing bridge and the construction of a new, permanent bridge. A temporary bridge crossing will also be constructed to maintain passage along Route 370.

St. Anthony Marine Biomaterial Processing Facility (Reg. 2383)
Proponent: Atlantic BioCorp Ltd.
The proponent is proposing to establish a biomaterials processing operation at an existing industrial facility in St. Anthony. The project proposes to divert shrimp and crab shell waste from landfills and convert it into bioproducts, including chitin, chitosan, protein hydrolysate, and calcium citrate. All activities would occur indoors within existing buildings, requiring no new land development or external infrastructure.
