On behalf of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, I extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the families who are forever changed by this senseless act of violence in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, and to all friends, students, educators, and first responders in mourning.
To the people of British Columbia, please know that we share your sorrow and our hearts are with all of you during this difficult time.
We stand with British Columbians in this moment of loss and our thoughts are with you as you begin the difficult process of healing.
Flags at Confederation Building will be flown at half-mast until Tuesday, February 17, out of respect for the victims.
