The Honourable Paul Lane, Speaker of the House of Assembly, issued the following statement:

“On behalf of all Members of the 51st General Assembly, I extend condolences on the passing of the Honourable Len Simms, former Speaker of the House of Assembly.

We remember and honour his many years of dedicated public service, commitment to the democratic process, and the leadership he provided to the Legislature. His contribution to the work of the Assembly and to the people of our province will long be remembered.

During this difficult time, we offer our heartfelt sympathy to Len’s family, friends, and all who are mourning this loss. May you find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind and in the knowledge that his work made a meaningful difference.”
